Art has always been one of my biggest loves. It has been a form of escape from the world, almost in some ways a form of meditation. I enjoy doing art involving people the most. I want to capture a personality, emotion,or a moment in time. I find each person beautiful and unique and I want others to see what I see. I enjoy working in a variety of mediums and trying new things. My paintings "Unfortunate Heart", "The Musician", and "The Kiss" are about capturing the emotions of specific times in my life. They also express the juxtapostion of hard lines and the tediousness of taping every line and detail versus the freedom of the splatter marks which are completely random. It shows my own personality of being a perfectionist in my art and work and my otherwise easygoing personality.
Biography: When I was about 3 or 4 I started making scibbles on pieces of paper. When I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said that I wanted to be an artist. Of course being a child my aspirations changed many times over the years but art remained my biggest passion. When I was 12 my mom gave me my first real camera and so began my love of photography. After graduating from high school I went to school for photography, but when I transfered to UW Madison I chose a different route and got my degree in Art Education. Even though I stopped doing photography for about a year it soon recaptured my attention when I got my first digital camera. Though I enjoyed teaching, I much more preferred being a part of the art. I've worked as a portrait photographer and am currently working on getting a degree in Photography. Outside of being a photographer, I still enjoy painting, drawing, making jewelry, doing collage, sewing and working with glass and metals.
